Aug. 30, 2005: Carrier Introduces Newly Designed Central Air System
COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - Carrier Corp. unveiled its newly designed central air conditioning system for the U.S. market, to be manufactured at its expanded facility in Collierville, Tenn. The new system will be optimized for the 13 SEER standard that takes effect in January 2006.
Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the expansion of the Collierville facility, Carrier president Geraud Darnis said the corporation anticipates more than 30 new patents for this redesigned cooling system. According to the company, its innovations make the product more energy efficient while reducing the size by 20 percent, weight by 30 percent, and refrigerant by 40 percent compared to today's 13 SEER unit.
