WASHINGTON - Building industry professionals will learn more about the fastest-growing segment of America's housing industry at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Building for Boomers & Beyond: Seniors Housing Symposium 2004, in Chicago, April 14-16. To be held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, the conference is designed to educate attendees on the housing needs of baby boomers and older generations.
"Builders today recognize that boomers, empty nesters, and seniors are a huge growth market in the housing industry for the next three decades," said Bonnie Solomon, chair of the NAHB Seniors Housing Council and vice president of several retirement communities in St. Louis, Kansas City, Mo., and Atlanta. "These consumers are more active, affluent, and healthier than previous generations, and our industry is evolving to build and design communities that appeal to the mature market."
