May 31, 2005: MCAA Approves Grants For Student Chapters, Internships
ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Mechanical Contractors Association of America's (MCAA's) Career Development Committee approved applications for Emerging Chapter Grants, Chapter of Excellence Grants, and Student Internship Grants at its spring meeting in Chicago. All of the grants are funded by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) under its Funding Educational Excellence program.
This year, MCERF Student Internship Grants will be awarded to 25 MCAA members to help cover the cost of a summer intern. Each company will be awarded one grant for $2,500. They are: J.F. Ahern (Fond du Lac, Wis.); BMW Constructors Inc. (Indianapolis); Collins & Walton Inc. (Emira, N.Y.); Control Services Inc. (Omaha, Neb.); Current Mechanical (Ft. Wayne, Ind.); Franklin Holwerda Co. (Wyoming, Mich.); General Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. (Madison, Wis.); Harry Grodsky & Co. Inc. (Springfield, Mass.); H & H Industries (Madison, Wis.); Hurst Industries (Belmont, Mich.); Industrial Contractors (Evansville, Ind.); J.H. Kelly LLC (Longview, Wash.); John J. Kirlin Inc. (Linthicum, Md.); Mared Mechanical Contractors (Milwaukee); Marken Mechanical Services Inc. (Concord, Calif.); McCauley Mechanical Construction Inc. (Bridgeview, Ill.); Midwest Mechanical Contractors Inc. (Overland Park, Kan.); Murphy Co. (St. Louis); Pan-Pacific Plumbing Co. (Irvine, Calif.); Peck, Hannaford & Briggs (Cincinnati); Performance Mechanical Inc. (Pittsburg, Calif.); Pierce Associates Inc. (Alexandria, Va.); S & D/Osterfeld Mechanical Contractors Inc. (Dayton, Ohio); University Marelich (Anaheim, Calif.); and York International Corp. (Mt. Prospect, Ill.).
