Feb. 23, 2006: Research Looks Beyond HFCs for European Auto A/C
WILMINGTON, Del. and MORRISTOWN, N.J. - In separate statements, DuPont and Honeywell have announced development of refrigerants designed to replace HFC-134a in automotive air conditioning.
The efforts are underway because HFCs are facing a phaseout for automotive air conditioning in European Union countries beginning in 2011. That phaseout does not affect automotive air conditioning in North America.
