Torad Engineering has announced that its sixth generation spool compressor prototype has achieved market level energy efficiency. The latest spool compressor mechanism has attained 80 percent overall isentropic efficiency, which equates to an estimated EER of 22.7 at the SEER B point.
Torad’s Spool Compressor delivers a smaller size, lower cost, and high efficiency for air conditioning and refrigeration systems, says the manufacturer. The design is applicable for a wide range utilizing spool compressors from 3-150 tons.
