HVACR manufacturers earn contractor-judged awards for dealer-friendly, innovative products

The Dealer Design Awards are judged by 20 contractors from across the U.S. who are active in the industry and have their collective fingers on the pulse of what’s happening. This year’s competition saw numerous themes across each category, as manufacturers shared the broad goals of making products smarter, more consistent, and innovative in new and unique ways.
I am not going to sugar coat it — this is not easy work. It is manual labor that will have you in attics when it is hotter than a jalapeño’s armpit and down in crawlspaces in freezing temperatures. You may be working nights, weekends, and holidays during the busy season, when the temperatures are at their most extreme, but, rest assured, you will be well compensated.

Enables technicians to engage in live visual interactions with staff experts

SightCall and ServiceMax have extended their partnership with the announcement of SightCall Visual Service™ for ServiceMax, which the companies said provides field technicians with the ability to share field issues and get remote guidance with live video, picture sharing, annotations, and co-browsing technical documentation.
To be eligible for HVACR Technician of the Month recognition, individuals must currently work as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, or refrigeration technicians and have at least one year of experience in the field. Technicians may not nominate themselves.
Shurtape Technologies LLC, a producer of HVAC tapes, is combating the skills gap with a scholarship program that helps students with the burden of financing their education and instructs them through a series of HVAC courses.
