An Indiana Bryant dealer’s equipment donation to a local training institute will help ensure that the next generation of HVAC technicians is familiar with the latest energy-efficient technology. Chapman Heating and Air Conditioning donated a Bryant multi-head ductless split to the Midwest Technical Institute (MTI) in Brownsburg, Indiana.

ACCA announced that it has developed free lesson plans to assist in teaching ACCA Manuals J, D, and S to HVAC students. The lesson plans are intended for use by HVAC instructors at vocational schools and community colleges as a method of introducing their students to industry-accepted procedures for system design.
Shurtape Technologies LLC, a producer of HVAC tapes, is combating the skills gap with a scholarship program that helps students with the burden of financing their education and instructs them through a series of HVAC courses.

One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating®, part of the Direct Energy family of brands, has announced its sponsorship of the One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating Technical Training Center at Suncoast Technical College. The company is fully funding all the tuition, supplies, books, and uniforms of the students in the program.
In this article, I would like to keep the momentum going by tackling the critical issue of what steps trade schools should be taking to educate and train our industry’s future technicians and installers so they can hit the ground running as soon as they graduate.
