The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) has introduced a new logo and vision for the association. The new logo includes a tagline, which is also the association’s vision: “We Make Life Better.”

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that the first meeting of the newly formed Commercial Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Water Heating, and Refrigeration Certification Working Group will be held on April 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at DOE headquarters in Washington, D.C.

While the summer is the busiest season for most of our contractor readers, for those of us covering the industry, the first three months of the year are the most jam-packed. Here are some interesting items I have picked up during my travels.

Shipments of central air conditioners, air-source heat pumps, gas warm air furnaces, residential storage water heaters, and commercial storage water heaters in the United States all showed double-digit increases in January, according to the latest statistics released by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) held two public meetings this week to discuss rulemakings involving residential boilers. The first discussed a rulemaking to revise the residential boiler/furnace efficiency test procedures; the second discussed a possible rulemaking on efficiency standards for residential boilers.
