Partnering with UGI HVAC and Penn State Hazelton on cogeneration system
February 22, 2016
Mohegan Sun Pocono will install a combined heat and power (CHP) system which will provide a reliable, energy-efficient source for heating and electric power and reduce the facility’s primary energy consumption. Installation of the system by UGI HVAC Enterprises is anticipated to begin in March and be operational by fall 2016.
Project is expected to save the Salvation Army upwards of $850,000
February 8, 2016
American DG Energy Inc. announced it has reached an agreement to provide its On-Site Utility™ combined heat and power (CHP) solution to the Salvation Army Greater New York Divisional Headquarters in New York City.
German electroplating company implements tri-generation comfort system
November 23, 2015
Companies with energy-intensive electroplating and surface finishing processes not only have high levels of energy consumption, but they also need vast quantities of process heat and cooling for production. Combined heat and power (CHP) units with thermally driven cooling systems are particularly effective in these instances.
Cogeneration turns an otherwise lost energy source into efficient heating and cooling
November 9, 2015
Four microturbines will include an integrated hot water cogeneration module to allow for a simple mechanical connection to multiple-facility hot water systems, as well as absorption chilling, reducing equipment footprint and facilitating quiet, safe, and reliable operations for combined heat and power (CHP).
Combined heat and power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat from a single fuel source, such as: natural gas, biomass, biogas, coal, waste heat, or oil. CHP is not a single technology, but an integrated energy system that can be modified depending upon the needs of the end user.
The company’s services include advanced heating and cooling systems, energy efficiency programs, and more

GEM Energy, part of the Rudolph Libbe Group, announced that Bill Alexander has been named president of the company. Alexander has more than 25 years of experience in energy services, most recently with Siemens, Honeywell, FirstEnergy, and Johnson Controls.
Tecogen® Inc. has announced the sale of a CM-60 combined heat and power (CHP) module to the Supreme Sports Club. In addition to providing electrical power to the facility, the CHP system will provide domestic hot water and pool heating at a far lower overall operating cost than the existing configuration, said Tecogen.
Facilities in Maine, N.J., and Texas are recognized for emission reductions
July 15, 2015
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized three facilities with the Energy Star Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Award for superior performance of their CHP systems. CHP captures the heat produced when electricity is generated and utilizes the waste heat to efficiently provide space heating, cooling, hot water, and steam.
Johnson Controls helps improve energy resiliency at Aberdeen Proving Ground
June 11, 2015
Johnson Controls joined with U.S. Army senior commanders at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) in Maryland to break ground on a new combined heat and power (CHP) plant designed to save the Army nearly $113 million over 19 years and provide reliable energy service to mission-critical facilities.
