Legislation Prompts CDA to Revisit Soldering Techniques for Making Proper Joints
December 8, 2014
Concerns related to soldering copper tube and the new no-lead copper alloys led the Copper Development Association (CDA) to conduct laboratory research and testing out in the field. The CDA found that, in many cases, those working with the new no-lead copper alloys were using the incorrect soldering procedure.
Mueller Streamline Co. has been working with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to conduct a series of performance tests regarding its copper tube and fittings and some of the newer higher pressure refrigerants. As a result, the company’s Streamline® copper tube and fittings are UL recognized to 700-psi operating pressures.
Siemens appoints building technologies division leader; Mueller Industries’ Streamline copper tube and fittings recognized up to 700 psi; Johnson Controls names director of marketing for unitary products; Rotobrush International announces partnership.
