Local public officials, Vista Solar, and Uesugi Farms have officially dedicated the farm’s new 792 kW solar system. The system, installed by Vista Solar, is producing enough solar energy to offset 91.5 percent of Uesugi Farms’ electrical demand. 

SolarCity® has opened its largest United States operations center in Riverside, Calif., to accommodate growing demand in the Southern California area. 

IKEA officially plugged-in the solar power system installed at its distribution center in Perryville, Md., which is the state’s largest solar rooftop array. The 768,972-square-foot photovoltaic (PV) array is a 2,674.9-kW system, built with 18,576 panels.

As part of its SunShot Initiative, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced $12 million in new funding aimed at streamlining and standardizing local solar permitting, zoning, metering, and connection processes.

Tioga Energy has announced the completion of a 961 kW solar energy project for two sites in the Washington Elementary School District (WESD). This undertaking will save the WESD more than $1.5 million over the next 20 years, including over $28,000 in the first year of operation alone.

As part its SunShot Initiative, the U.S. Department of Energy has announced a $29 million investment in four solar energy projects. These projects are aimed at improving grid connection and reducing installation costs through plug-and-play technologies and reliable solar power forecasts.

Representatives from the Hemet Unified School District, Tioga Energy, Johnson Controls, De Lage Landen, and Wells Fargo & Co. gathered in Hemet, Calif., to celebrate the completion of 17 solar electric systems for district schools that are expected to save the district approximately $300,000 in utility costs annually.
