Acquisition aligns with focus on investing in Emerson’s core business verticals

Emerson announced it has signed an agreement to purchase the Valves & Controls business of Pentair for $3.15 billion. Emerson said the complementary acquisition establishes its global presence in control, isolation, pressure relief valves and actuation as part of a larger strategy to build a broader automation portfolio.
Armstrong Fluid Technology’s Monday evening event at the hip River Roast along the Chicago River drew a packed house. Bruce Fontaine, OEM sales manager, Armstrong Fluid Technology, said focusing on the design envelope will be the way of the future for energy efficient HVACR systems, and encouraged contractors to “take the load off.”
Emerson announced that it has acquired the Marine Container and Boiler business of Johnson Controls Inc., enabling Emerson Climate Technologies to expand its refrigeration technology and solutions offerings in the global transportation sector. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Reliable Controls Corp. has announced that two of its management personnel have accepted new BACnet International appointments. BACnet International is the organization that encourages the use of the BACnet standard in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, educational programs, and promotional activities.
An environmentally friendly product, the ScaleBlaster eliminates formation of limescale deposits in pipes, cooling towers, boilers, and other applications. The equipment is comprised of a computerized control box and a signal cable that is wrapped around the outside of the pipe.
