New cold chain storage equipment optimizes airport for shipping perishable goods

Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) Airport is installing a cold chain facility intended to provide cargo and logistics customers with enhanced opportunities to ship perishable items. Expected to be operational this summer, the state-of-the-art transfer facility will give DFW the ability to precisely control warehousing temperatures for customers shipping pharmaceuticals, flowers, and fresh foods. The facility will be operated by AirLogistix USA.
In a perfect scenario, the oil in a refrigeration or air conditioning system would stay inside the compressor’s crankcase to lubricate the compressor’s moving parts. However, because of ever-changing heat loads on the system and varying system conditions there is no such thing as a perfect system in the real world.

Yet if equipment is the lifeblood of the HVACR industry, then the people at refrigeration companies are its beating heart. And it clearly is in your best interest -- as the contractor whose name is on the door and on the trucks -- to keep your people as happy as possible.
