Happy birthday, dear Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News, Happy birthday to you.

OK, it might be somewhat crazy singing to a publication, but The News is not your ordinary trade publication. It turns 75 years old tomorrow. On Sept. 11, 1926, the first issue of the Electric Refrigeration News was published by F. M. Cockrell, founder of Business News Publishing Company. It started out with a paid circulation of about 2,000 readers and has been growing ever since. (For more historical facts regarding The News, please see this week’s “Glancing Back” on page 24.) Since its inception, The News has been meeting — and continues to meet — the needs of readers. Every week. Fifty-two weeks a year. Delivering vital industry news and trends to help readers make important decisions. Let’s just say The News has been a solid fixture in the industry, decade after decade.
