LEXINGTON, Mass. - Wrightsoft announced that Charles (Chip) Barnaby, the company's vice president of research, has been presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) for his numerous contributions to the society.

Barnaby's service to the society has included serving on and chairing committees on energy and load calculations, climatic information, and XML definitions for HVACR. He is also the primary author of Chapter 29: Residential Heating and Cooling Load Calculations, in the 2005 "ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals," and he has penned two technical papers on new residential heating and cooling load calculation procedures that use a detailed heat balance procedure. Both papers have also resulted in ASHRAE Technical Paper Awards and are being adopted throughout the industry.

"As the driving force behind Wrightsoft's Research and Development Department, Chip's experience and industry knowledge are passed on to customers through the heating and cooling load calculations engine within Right-Suite," the company said.
