Johnstone Supply Inc.’s annual meeting - themed “Full Steam Ahead” and held in Atlanta - in part reflected the cooperative’s strong moves forward in implementing strategic initiatives to achieve its goal of reaching $2 billion in total sales by 2010. Nearly 1,200 people attended this year’s event.

Approximately 250 people attended Modern Supply’s Counter Day in Knoxville, Tenn. Customers participated in a variety of activities and educational opportunities. Multiple vendors were on hand displaying products as well.
Meier Supply Co. Inc. celebrated the expansion of its distribution center and corporate headquarters in Johnson City, N.Y., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The expansion project, which was completed earlier this year, added 10,800 square feet to the distribution center.
WinWholesale was listed in the 2008 InformationWeek 500 and ranked No. 112 on the list of companies recognized for innovative use of information technology (IT). In the list’s distribution industry category, only one other company ranked higher than WinWholesale.
Coburn Supply, a Ruud distributor, has opened a new Prostock® store in Houma, La. This addition joins the company’s five other Prostock stores located in Louisiana and Texas. The grand opening was attended by dozens of contractors from across the region.
In an effort to cut contractor travel time, Trane continues to open parts locations in major markets in North America. So far in 2008, the company has opened nine new stores and relocated six across the United States and Canada. This network is intended to help contractors find the parts needed, when they are needed.
Cudd Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. won the grand prize of a Bahamas cruise following a recent promotion by Noland Co. and NuTone Heating and Cooling Products. The promotion, held in the Charlotte and Asheville, N.C., areas, offered dealers a chance to win prizes for learning more about the NuTone line.
Home Comfort Zones, manufacturer of the MyTemp home energy management and temperature control system, formed its Certified Dealer Network in Southern California. MyTemp is now available to residents of Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, and Riverside counties.
