York Affinity residential air conditioners and heat pumps earn designation for fifth consecutive year

Johnson Controls announced that two of its York Affinity residential air conditioners and one York Affinity residential heat pump have been recognized as Energy Star® Most Efficient 2016, when combined with the York smart thermostat.
The ASRAC established the Central Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps Working Group in July 2015; it is the latest of several working groups to successfully create negotiated efficiency standards for industry equipment. Other negotiated rulemakings aided by working groups include walk-in coolers and freezers, regional standards enforcement, and commercial rooftop air conditioners and furnaces.
Energy efficiency, integration with smart home technology, and the ongoing impact of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) regional efficiency standards are major trends influencing products in the residential air conditioning market.
As technology improves, portable equipment manufacturers will continue to work to meet the growing needs of their customers, from those needing small-scale residential solutions all the way up to data centers and factories in need of industrial-grade solutions.
This expanded line of hazardous-duty room air conditioners includes ATEX (Atmosphères Explosibles)/IECEx (International Electrotechnical Commission Explosive)-certified models for international customers.
New from FasTest for the HVACR market is the CoreMax SV, an advanced single port service valve with significant performance advantages over conventional service valves typically used in split system air conditioner systems.
