ALDI has successfully deployed Siemens’ Site Controls Energy Management System (EMS) at nearly 1,500 of its retail locations. The majority of the installations were retrofits at existing stores replacing thermostats or third-party energy management systems, but Siemens also installed Site Controls in newly constructed stores as well.
The Madera County Board of Supervisors announced it has completed the latest chapter in its successful solar and energy efficiency program with OpTerra Energy Services. The county is set to achieve nearly $15 million in energy savings as a result of the comprehensive solar and energy efficiency upgrades.
Small to medium sized buildings make up the vast majority of buildings. Many existing buildings are inadequately insulated, use outdated, inefficient HVAC technologies, and have poorly functioning control systems. This poses a pressing renovation need, notes BSRIA, and also a host of new business opportunities.
