As crews dismembered the inner parts and pieces of the 1,800-square-foot home, they discovered that just about everything, including the electrical service, most interior walls, flooring, insulation, old chimneys, plumbing, the original furnace with its a/c coil on top, and even the septic lines in and out, had to go.
"In 2015, women comprised 57 percent of the national labor force, according to the DOL; however, only 1.7 percent of the total employed heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration installers and technicians were women. Women represent an untapped resource for the HVACR industry."
Contractors can create a safety and health program using a number of simple steps that include training workers on how to identify and control hazards, inspecting the job site with workers to identify the problems with equipment and materials, and developing responses to possible emergency scenarios in advance.
