CHANTILLY, VA — The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) has issued “Duct Cleanliness for New Construction Guidelines.” The technical paper is meant to assist contractors, design engineers, and building owners, and reviews methods of controlling and reducing contamination during duct installation.

The new guideline offers several procedures related to the general jobsite, material storage, cleanup, and work scheduling that may be implemented on any commercial duct installation project to reduce potential duct contamination.

Finally, the report offers three standardized cleanliness levels and criteria for meeting those standards.

The complete report is available free of charge at www.smacna.org (website).
