Refrigerant Lab Certified

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. - Hudson Technologies Inc.'s refrigerant testing lab in Champaign, Ill., has been certified by the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) under ARI's Refrigerant Testing Laboratory Certification Program.

"We are pleased to have successfully completed the rigorous certification process, becoming one of only three companies in the United States to have an ARI certified refrigerant testing lab," said Kevin Zugibe, chairman and CEO, Hudson Technologies. "The certification demonstrates that we have a high level of quality control and analytical expertise and should help to grow revenues from providing refrigerant testing services to customers within our industry."

The ARI certification signifies that Hudson has demonstrated its ability to accurately perform ARI 700 refrigerant testing in accordance with procedures required under the ARI 700 Standard. The standard establishes purity, composition and testing specifications for new or reclaimed refrigerants. Originally a voluntary industry standard developed by ARI, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has codified the 700 Standard and now requires reclaimed refrigerants to meet the ARI 700-1995 standard before they can be sold or resold.

"Hudson's customers now have the added assurance that our lab's ability to perform accurate refrigerant analyses has been independently certified by the very organization that established the industry-accepted standard for refrigerant purity," said Zugibe.

"As we continue to introduce predictive and preventive maintenance services to our existing and potential client base, the ARI certification confirms the quality and expertise of our lab, which is critical to the science that Hudson uses to identify inefficiencies in a cooling system."
