The Nomaco K-FLEX™ LS aluminum-backed sheets are designed for outside ductwork, such as for rooftop units, with a closed cell structure so it does not absorb moisture. The preapplied aluminum foil eliminates the necessity of painting the insulation with layers of protective coating to shield it from the elements, states the manufacturer. It is UV and weather resistant. The sheets are available in 3-by-4 foot sheets, up to 2 inches thick. Aluminum tape is available to seal the edges.
