Yes! Cools Las Vegas Vets at American Legion Post 8

American Legion representatives, local veterans, and Yes! representatives looked on as a two-story crane prepared to hoist a gift bow-adorned air conditioning unit above the American Legion building in downtown Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS - Yes! Air Conditioning, in Las Vegas and Phoenix, donated and installed the air conditioning system to the kitchen of the American Legion Post 8 in downtown Las Vegas. The donation allowed Post 8’s kitchen to reopen, serving local veterans who do not have access to basic food necessities due to the overcrowding of other soup kitchens in the downtown area.

“We are happy to help improve the lives of heroes who have bravely served our country with the install of an a/c unit,” said Lance Fernandez, general manager of Yes! Air Conditioning. “The staff and patrons were incredibly grateful to see the community reaching out and supporting them.”

The kitchen previously used a swamp cooler only strong enough to keep the kitchen at or above 85°F, shutting it down for use during the hot summer months in Las Vegas. As a solution, Yes! performed a complete install and donated the brand-new unit - a 3-ton-capacity 13 SEER Goodman. Since there was no existing ductwork, the install also included a full roof penetration using donated sheet metal for the fabrication. The total value of the install was estimated at $15,000.

“We’re a veteran’s organization committed to helping veterans, and it is nice to see Yes! come and pitch in when we were in need,” said Ken Roberts, commander of Post 8. “This will help so many deserving veterans in our community.”
