Service Roundtable Names Consultant of the Year

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Service Roundtable recognized Ron Smith as the recipient of its 2009 Tom McCart Consultant of the Year Award for the plumbing and HVAC trades.

“Ron has been an extremely successful contractor and one of the industry’s true innovators. Throughout his career, he’s freely shared his knowledge and mentored countless others,” said Matt Michel, Service Roundtable CEO. “Ron’s brought many of the best known consultants into the industry, including Tom McCart, who became the first residential retail salesperson to achieve $1 million while working for Ron at Modern Air in Florida. It’s fitting that he is a recipient of the McCart Award.”

Candidates for the Tom McCart HVAC Consultant of the Year Award are nominated and voted on by the membership of the Service Roundtable.

“I’m very pleased and feel privileged to have received the Consultant of the Year award,” said Smith. “To be recognized by such a large group of some of the very best contractors in North America is truly an honor.”

This is the second year of the McCart Award. The previous recipient was Charlie Greer.
