RSES Launches I=B=R Schools

July 12, 2003
DES PLAINES, Ill. — The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) announced that it has successfully introduced the first round of I=B=R Schools, “Residential Hydronic Heating – Installation and Design,” at four locations in the Northeast. The schools, developed and supported by the Hydronics Institute Division of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA), explore residential hydronic heating. The four two-day courses were held June 3-4, in Bensalem, Pa.; June 5-6, in Lancaster, Pa.; June 17-18, in Long Island, N.Y.; and June 19-20, in White Plains, N.Y.

According to RSES, the new program is an updated and revitalized version of the hydronics instruction course that has been conducted for years by the Institute of Boiler and Radiator Manufacturers (I=B=R), which later became the Hydronics Institute.

A number of topics are covered during the course, including what hydronics is and why to use it, heat loss calculations, basic controls, piping and wiring, zoning, electrical schematics, and customer relations.

New locations and dates will soon be announced. For more information on upcoming I=B=R Schools, call 800-297-5660.
