Munters Corp., Dehumidification Division: DESICCANT DEHUMIDIFACTION
April 13, 2002
The DryCool Dehumidification System (DDS) is a desiccant system that has been designed with fewer parts, the company says. The units range in size from 5,000 to 36,000 cfm. The system uses the new GTR Rotor HoneyCombe® desiccant wheel. The manufacturer claims this rotor can improve desiccant dehumidification system performance up to 60%, and that the wheel is smaller than other desiccant wheels, so systems using this rotor are also smaller, thereby requiring less space for housing the unit. Due to the GTR, the desiccant dehumidification system does not need components used for preheating and/or precooling. The system can use both the enthalpy and/or sensible wheels. Removable panels are optional, as are floors that are flush with the doorjamb, for easy cleaning and draining.
