ANAHEIM, Calif. - The trade press was given a warm welcome to the 2004 AHR Expo by members of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI).
ARI President William G. Sutton thanked the media for telling the "good news" about the HVACR trade and added, "We've had a great year - a record year. Heat pumps and unitary A/C equipment shipments were up. And we are looking forward to another great year."

The last West Coast Expo (San Francisco, 1998) featured 1,034 exhibitors. The 2004 West Coast Expo (Anaheim) features 1,214 exhibitors (17.4 percent increase). 407 companies are showing new products. 198 companies are showing IAQ-related equipment. 225 first-time exhibitors. 277 international exhibitors from 34 countries (62 percent increase over 1998).
