MCAA Focuses on Future

August 29, 2001
NEWPORT, RI — The board of directors of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) held its midyear meeting here June 21-23. The meeting took a detailed look at new initiatives and finances, as well as current programs and the need for new ones.

One program the board discussed was the organization’s Vision 2000. With the help of the Technology Assisted Group Solutions (TAGS), MCAA is hoping to update and reevaluate the program. TAGS, developed by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), is a computerized system to help groups reach important decisions about critical issues.

Also discussed and approved by the board was the Advanced Leadership Institute (ALI). As MCAA’s latest education initiative, ALI will provide learning and development experience for senior executives of member companies. Courses will include strategic planning, financial planning, economic modeling, and more. Babson College in Wellesley, MA, will deliver the courses in Spring 2002.
