Marcraft Custom Air Handling Systems, a div. of Arizon Companies: Energy Recovery Units

September 10, 2007

Custom energy recovery units are now available. The company’s energy recovery units use exhaust air from a given space that contains heating or cooling energy to condition a source of outside air. Utilizing this exhaust energy lessens the overall building consumption of energy, therefore reducing building operating costs as well as conserving natural resources. Four types - plate air-to-air heat exchangers, heat pipes, rotary energy recovery wheels, and run-around loops - are manufactured to the application’s requirements and can be made to meet the contractor’s needs (e.g., must fit into a freight elevator). Each unit can also be combined with the other types of energy recovery units to meet specific installation needs. According to the manufacturer, the units can recover up to 85 percent or more of exhausted energy.
