Whitman will discuss the Bush administration's plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through voluntary industry programs and economic incentives. In addition, she will highlight the recently launched "Climate Leaders Program," which showcases industry's commitment to addressing climate change.
The March 25-27 conference is sponsored by the International Climate Change Partnership and the Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric Policy, in cooperation with the EPA, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), United Nations Environment Programme, Environment Canada, and a number of other international organizations and industry associations. Over 230 speakers are scheduled to address the participants.
The forum also features a March 27 Executive Summit called, "Building Air Conditioning Investment: Save Money and Protect the Environment". The summit will address the cost effectiveness of energy-efficient building air conditioning. Participants will learn why and how energy investments in both new and existing buildings are good for business and the environment. "Some of the most cost-effective opportunities to protect the climate are now offered by the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning industry," said Dave Stirpe, director of the Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric Policy.
