  • Lennox International, Inc. (Dallas, TX), has become a member of the Operations Management Roundtable (OMR), which provides unlimited access via the Internet to best practices information, research support, education, and networking services for operations executives. Other member companies include Honeywell, General Electric, Coca-Cola, Nike, and many more.

  • Carrier Corp. (Farmington, CT) will begin to display the TRUSTe privacy seal within its website. The seal signifies that the site has posted a privacy statement and that data gathering and dissemination practices conform to those outlined by the Federal Trade Commission's fair information practices.

  • The pulsed air combustion high-capacity boiler invented by Garry O. Hanson, consulting engineer, HVAC Consultants, Inc. (Florence, KY), in conjunction with Harsco Corp., Patterson-Kelley Division (Fairmont, MN), is now patented, receiving U.S. Patent Number 6,161,506.

  • Fluke Corp. (Everett, WA) has launched a sweepstakes to give away a Harley Davidson 2002 SofttailR DeuceT motorcycle.   • Pepco Energy Services (Washington, DC) has purchased Seaboard Mechanical Services headquartered in Chesapeake, VA. Seaboard also has facilities in Lynchburg, VA, Richmond, VA, and Raleigh, NC. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

  • Multiaqua, Inc. (Miramar, FL), manufacturer of 3-, 4-, and 5-ton self-contained air-cooled chillers and reverse cycle chillers, has made an agreement with McAllister & Associates, Inc. (Apopka, FL), for representation of the line in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Western Tennessee.
