Lennox Rooftops Will Offer Wireless

FAIRFIELD, NJ - The Notifact Corp. announces that it has signed an agreement with Lennox Industries, Inc., Dallas, TX, to provide plug-and-play wireless communications for equipment monitoring to select Lennox rooftop units.

The Notifact Wireless Monitor-ing System (WMS) will provide direct plug-in communications capabilities to the Lennox integrated modular control board, which is standard on L Series 3- to 30-ton rooftop packaged units. By applying Internet server and wireless technologies, the WMS provides real-time monitoring of hvacr equipment without the need for building automation, dedicated phone lines, and central monitoring centers.

Kevin Duffy, vice president, sales and marketing, for Notifact, said, “By applying our wireless monitoring system, Lennox can now offer customers a rooftop unit that will immediately notify them of an equipment alarm.”

The plug-and-play connections will enable every alarm point configured on the rooftop unit to be communicated wirelessly, direct to service contractors and facility managers via pagers, cellular phones, faxes, and/or e-mail. The alert message will provide location, equipment identification, and the specific equipment alarm code causing the problem.

“This technology will allow service contractors to respond with the most qualified personnel for the job, prepared with the proper parts and tools, reducing equipment downtime and costly business disruptions for their customers,” said Duffy.

Perfect Fit

The agreement will allow Lennox authorized dealers and any servicing contractor to differentiate their services by providing state-of-the-art digital and Internet equipment monitoring. “Instant alert notification will allow contractors to lock-in service calls, increase customer service and retention, and improve management of day-to-day business operations,” Duffy stated.

PATENTS Allowed

Notifact also announced that several patents pending for its message routing system have been allowed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Official patents are expected to be issued by the end of the year.
