Leica Geosystems: Laser Distance Meter
June 22, 2009
The Disto™ D8 hand-held laser distance meter is equipped with a digital Point-finder. The Point-finder with 4x zoom allows the user to point quickly and easily at far-off objects, including in bright sunlight. When the laser dot is no longer visible to the naked eye, the target still can be seen on the 2.4-inch high-resolution color display, allowing precise distance measurements to be made. The built-in tilt sensor can determine angles and horizontal distances over the top of obstructions. Roof slopes and facade areas can be safely and rapidly measured from the ground. The meter is also capable of simple leveling tasks. Measurement results can be transferred wirelessly and without errors to PCs or pocket PCs using the integral Bluetooth® technology, where they can be further processed quite easily in Excel®, AutoCAD®, or other software.
