July 8, 2011: ACCA Announces Second Review of Existing Residential Building Performance Improvement Standard

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) has announced an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) second public review for the new standard “Existing Residential Building Performance Improvement.” The second public review period will close at midnight Eastern Time on Aug. 1, 2011.

This proposed standard identifies the metrics, tolerances, approved procedures, and required documentation to (1) evaluate the current performance, (2) establish the basis to create performance improvement specifications, (3) identify approved approaches to implement the specified improvements, and (4) establish the procedures to objectively assess the performance change of the completed improvements.

Changes to the current standard for this second public review are indicated in the text by underline for additions and strikethrough for deletions. The changes to the normative portions of the standard (§1 - §7 and Appendix A) are open for review and comment. Unchanged portions of the document are provided for context.

This proposed standard is referenced as BSR/ACCA 12 EHEPI-201x; it and the required response form can be downloaded at www.acca.org/industry/ansi-standards/under-review. Comments must be submitted on the response form in accordance with the instructions on the form.
