July 26, 2006: AMCA International Lab Receives A2LA Accreditation

July 26, 2006
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA) announced that it has received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. The accreditation was granted to AMCA's laboratory after a rigorous evaluation process by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for technical competence in the field of mechanical testing.

This accreditation will allow the AMCA laboratory to perform the following tests on fans and air-handling units under the A2LA accredited scope:

Test - Fans: Airflow, pressure, power, and efficiency for multiple nozzle inlet chamber and multiple nozzle outlet chamber
Test Method - ANSI/AMCA 210/ASHRAE 51-1999

Test - Central station air-handling units: Airflow, pressure, power, and efficiency for multiple nozzle inlet chamber and multiple nozzle outlet chamber
Test Method - ANSI/ARI 430-1999

The AMCA laboratory's fulfillment of the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 means the laboratory meets both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements that are necessary for it to consistently deliver technically valid test results and calibrations. The management system requirements in ISO/IEC 17025 (Section 4) are written in language relevant to laboratory operations and meet the principles of ISO 9001:2000, Quality Management Systems – Requirements.
