GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies: Portable Video Borescope
October 13, 2008
The XL Go VideoProbe® is a portable, lightweight, high-resolution video borescope that’s available to tackle inspections in small, hard-to-reach places. Powered by a lithium ion battery, the borescope is cordless and has no tethers, offering increased access and flexibility during inspections. According to the manufacturer, its compact design and shipping case is small enough that it can be classified as carry-on luggage. The system’s durable tungsten braided insertion tube has 360-degree articulation, allowing for navigation in tight applications. The LED light is routed through a fiber optic bundle, projecting the inspection image onto a high-resolution LCD screen. Inspection results are captured as high-resolution images or MPEG4 video for analysis or collaboration. USB data ports for flash memory thumb drives enable additional data storage.
