DOE Awards Clean Energy Projects

October 13, 2003
The Department of Energy (DOE) awarded $12.3 million to 21 broad-based, cost-shared research projects that will help to advance energy efficiency and fossil energy technologies. According to the DOE, the projects promote crosscutting systems in different research fields to be applied to both areas of science. The projects, managed by universities and companies in 13 states, will run from one to three years and target scientific development in the following technology areas: materials, fuel and chemicals, sensors and controls, and energy conversion.
