  • The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) (Chantilly, VA) named Clinton O. Gowan Jr. of Emcor-Gowan Inc. (Houston, TX) the SMACNA Contractor of the Year. The association also named Paul Parker, executive director of SMACNA of Long Island Inc., the Petersen-Dunn Chapter Executive of the Year.

  • The Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) Construction Education Foundation (Washington, DC) voted to change its name. The foundation will now be known as the Trimmer Education Foundation in honor of John Trimmer, ABC executive vice president from 1952-1976.

  • The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) (Washington, DC) has introduced a new online trade directory, which the association says will allow purchasing officers to find suppliers and service providers faster and easier. Visitors can log on to the website at www.nambuyerseller.com.

  • The National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOHSM) (East Petersburg, PA) is inviting students to apply for one of its six $2,000 Dave Nelsen Educational Scholarships.   • The Air Movement and Control Association International Inc. (AMCA) (Arlington Heights, IL) has announced that Vanaire (Louisville, KY) is now participating in its Certified Ratings Program.
