  • North American Technician Excellence's (NATE) 2006 Certified Technician Competition awarded contest winner, Skip Egner (top right), Service Experts, Fort Myers, Fla., with the "Top Tech Award" at Comfortech.

  • The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association Educational Foundation's 2006 International Plumbing Apprentice award was won by Christopher Platner (middle right), L.N. Piccianno, Vestal, N.Y. R. Thomas Allen, Gateway Mechanical, Fenton, Mo., placed second and Mathew Nickelson, Gotelli Plumbing, San Rafael, Calif., took third.

  • The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers' (ASHRAE's) free satellite broadcast and webcast, "Multiple Benefits Solutions for Enhanced Building Security," is Nov. 14.

  • The North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) added a rock and slag wool insulation brochure to its online library of free resources.

  • The National Air Filtration Association (NAFA) elected Stephen Nicholas (bottom right), president, Air Industries Inc. (North Andover, Mass.) as its president.
