  • Lake Coulson, vice president of government relations for the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC) (Falls Church, Va.), was named president of the National Alliance for Fair Competition (NAFC).

  • The Heating, Airconditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) (Columbus, Ohio) has awarded $1,000 scholarships to Lynn Brown from the University of North Florida and Christopher Kelly from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

  • The newest student chapter of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) (Rockville, Md.) is forming at Western Carolina University (Cullowhee, N.C.). MCA of the Carolinas will be the chapter’s sponsor.

  • John Murphy, president of J.E. Murphy ClimateCare (Lasalle, Ontario), was appointed chair of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) (Mississauga, Ontario).

  • The Air Movement and Control Association International Inc. (AMCA) announced that Daniel Mechanical Company (Los Angeles) has a damper (round) that is licensed through AMCA International’s Certified Ratings Program.
