April 28, 2004: Siemens Named Premier Rebuild America Partner

April 28, 2004
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has named Siemens Building Technologies Inc. a Premier Business Partner for 2003 in the DOE's Rebuild America program.

According to the DOE, Rebuild America is a program dedicated to saving energy, improving building performance, accelerating the use of the best energy technologies, lowering U.S reliance on energy imports, reducing air pollution, and enhancing the quality of life in communities across the nation. The program is made up of hundreds of partnerships among municipalities, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses, schools, and universities that are committed to reducing energy use and energy costs.

"Siemens has shown extraordinary commitment to Rebuild America and the energy security of our country," said Doug Avery, business partner team leader from Rebuild America.

By entering into a performance contract with Siemens, schools and municipalities receive building control technologies, equipment upgrades, and retrofits with no upfront costs. The energy savings from the use of more efficient systems help the schools and municipalities pay for their improvements over time.

"Siemens takes great pride in its participation in Rebuild America," said Chuck Hall, Siemens national sales manager. "The program benefits schools and local communities while helping to sustain America's energy resources."
