ABC Launches Redesigned Web Site

April 23, 2004
WASHINGTON - Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has announced the launch of a complete redesign of its Web site, www.abc.org, to provide users with faster and easier access to information on ABC's legislative and regulatory activities, business development opportunities, education and training, MeritChoice insurance, and safety and legal issues, says the association.

"ABC's new Web site provides a powerful new tool for construction industry professionals," said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO. "ABC members, and others with an interest in the construction industry, will now have access to the most recent construction news, as well as quick-to-find information on ABC's many events and services. We believe that anyone with a serious interest in the U.S. construction industry will want to bookmark [the Web site] and visit the site often.

"The construction industry is constantly changing, and with this new Web site, ABC is better able to instantly adjust to the evolving needs of our member firms."

Included in the new site is a redesign of Newsline, ABC's online newsletter. The newsletter now features daily updates on construction industry headlines, allowing ABC to provide breaking construction news when it happens.

According to ABC, the site also features advanced search capabilities and business development resources. One such resource is ABC's Find-a-Contractor service, which allows users interested in obtaining construction services to search for select member firms by specialty, location, and volume of business. Other features include a calendar of ABC events, online event registration, and quick access to other business resources, such as ABC's Accredited Quality Contractor program and member discount programs.
