Aug. 28, 2012: ACCA 5 QI Standard Is Now Available in Spanish

August 28, 2012
ARLINGTON, Va. — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) announced that it has translated its ANSI/ACCA 5 QI – 2010 Standard (Quality Installation Specification) into Spanish and has made it available as a free PDF download.

According to the association, the ACCA 5 QI standard provides industry-developed, American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-recognized requirements associated with quality installations, acceptable procedures for measuring or verifying the attainment of those requirements, and acceptable forms of documentation to show compliance to the requirements.

Given that the standard has been adopted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a requirement for the Energy Star HVAC QI Program and the Energy Star New Homes Program, ACCA said it is seeking to make its QI Standard as accessible as possible for all.

“ACCA understands the changing demographics in the industry, and is making a concerted effort to reach as many contractors and technicians as possible with our technical information,” said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO.

The QI Standard is also a core requirement within ACCA’s Quality Assured (QA) Contractor Recognition Program, created to recognize HVAC contractors eligible to work with home builders seeking the Energy Star New Homes Program Rating.

The standard is available for free download at https://www.acca.org/industry/quality/quality-installation.
