TORONTO — The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) recently released its Market Data Report, announcing that estimated HVACR sales showed an increase of 12.8 percent for the month of February when compared to the same month last year. Further data revealed pipes, valves, and fittings (PVF) showed a sales increase of 14.6 percent; hydronics, 14.3 percent; HVACR, 11.5 percent; plumbing, 5 percent; and waterworks increased 0.3 percent.
The Atlantic region, which includes Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland, showed the highest increase across all regions, with a 22.1 percent increase. Other regions showing increases included Alberta, 16.1 percent; The West (Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay) up 15.2 percent; Ontario, 6 percent; and British Columbia, 2.7 percent.
