ADGE was presented with a greenhouse gas reduction certificate by the EPA in recognition of the company’s contribution to efficient U.S. energy production. The 2011 certificate states that the high efficiency of the company’s CHP systems prevented an estimated 28,000 metric tons of carbon equivalents as compared to typical energy supply systems, resulting in annual carbon emissions reductions equivalent to electricity used annually by 2,920 homes. This represents a 21 percent increase over the company’s emissions reductions stated in the 2010 certificate.
“We are pleased that our highly efficient energy systems continue to lower carbon emissions,” said John N. Hatsopoulos, CEO, ADGE. “It’s an honor to be recognized for improving the environment and helping our customers.”
