Editor’s Note: The following remarks were made on The NEWS’ group, The NEWS Network, on LinkedIn. These comments are concerning North American Technician Excellence (NATE) and NATE certification.

Recognizes Geothermal Work Too

NATE is a critical entity for the geothermal HVAC industry. Fossil system interests famously discount geo operating efficiencies, and organizations like NATE provide training and nonbrand credibility to the geo option by providing a platform for 4-plus COP 25-plus EER geo install training guidelines. We are proud to provide NATE-recognized geo installer trainings at Water Energy!

Marketing Tool Yes, Proof of Proficiency No

NATE is a good marketing tool, another feather in the cap to bring comfort to the home and business owner.

As a contractor, I review the service techs that I have hired (and fired), and I can’t say that the NATE certification was evidence of proficiency.
