TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. received the 2011 Governor’s Business Diversification Award in the Green-to-Gold Major Market category at a reception at the Governor’s Mansion.

The award, given by Enterprise Florida in conjunction with Florida’s Annual Industry Appreciation Week, recognizes organizations in Florida that best exemplify green leadership and investments in economic development.

In making their selections, Enterprise Florida considered each organization’s commitment to investing in the community and efforts to improve and diversify Florida’s economy.

• Addition of 50 new staff positions in the past year;

• Annual average growth of 20 percent; and

• $14 million in purchases through local and regional suppliers.

“We are very honored to receive this award, and it’s very important for us to be recognized in the state of Florida,” said Ricardo Schneider, president of Danfoss Turbocor. “It is a true testament to our ongoing commitment to the community and to sustainable energy efficiency.”
