Yearout Mechanical Uses Textura to Standardize and Streamline Billing

October 3, 2011
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Yearout Mechanical Inc., a mechanical contractor with projects throughout New Mexico, announced that it has adopted Textura—Construction Payment Management (CPM) to manage its projects, subcontractors, and material suppliers.

Denise Lerma, Yearout billing specialist, said, “Yearout was introduced to Textura as a prime subcontractor working with New Mexico general contractor Jaynes Corporation. We quickly realized the benefits of CPM as a subcontractor submitting invoices to a general contractor and wanted the same benefits and process with our own subcontractors even when the general contractor is not on Textura. We manage the collection and review of all sub-tier invoices, lien waivers and compliance requirements and we make electronic payments to our partners via Textura—CPM regardless of the general contractor on the project. Our project teams also create our customer billing with Textura.”

Patrick Allin, Textura chairman and CEO, said, “Yearout Mechanical is a significant customer for us in the Southwest. Their projects have received numerous awards, most recently from NAIOP, and they have been recognized as a company for their ethical behavior and for continually upgrading their capabilities. This desire to excel is what led Yearout to ask whether or not they could use CPM on their own without a general contractor necessarily being on the system. The answer of course is that the system was designed to tier up and down based on which participants were using it. Yearout’s ability to standardize their billing process regardless of the customer should drive significant process efficiencies. We are also seeing more contractors and owners require second tier contractors and suppliers to be on Textura for risk mitigation.”

“The Textura system has increased collaboration within our organization and reduced the time spent managing the billing process,” said Lian Yearout, vice president, special projects and past CFO. “The integration to our accounting system is seamless and easy to maintain. Making electronic payments is a huge value to our subcontractor partners and it has streamlined treasury functions within Yearout.”

“Implementing CPM with a specialty contractor is no different than with a general contractor,” added David Kelly, Textura VP client services. “Configuration, training, and support were adapted to Yearout’s specific needs. Rollout to their contractor and supplier base and ongoing support is provided by Textura. Yearout is an active participant and has a strong voice in the industry. We have participated in AGC events with Yearout and very much appreciate their advocacy.”
