Obituary: Frank C. Hawk Sr.

LANOKA HARBOR, N.J. - Frank C. Hawk Sr. passed away Oct. 3 at Spring Oak Assisted Living. He worked in industrial refrigeration field sales, and for the past 38 years was a manufacturer's representative for Kramer Co., Brea, Calif.

Hawk was an active member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) since 1948 and of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) since 1945. He was active in the industry for more than 70 years, and in 1991 he authored and published the Hawk Industrial Refrigeration Manual, a practical guide of refrigeration system design and application.

Hawk was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, in 1987. He is survived by a son, Frank C. Hawk III; daughter, Nancy Linky; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
