JACKSON, Miss. - Unified Brands, which makes refrigeration equipment for the food service sector under the CapKold brand name, announced that it will be closing its Arizona manufacturing operations over the next several months for a permanent closure by the end of February 2008. According to the company, this move is being made in order to optimize its manufacturing capacity and lower its overall cost structure. In addition to the Arizona facility, the company currently has manufacturing operations in Jackson, Miss., and Weidman, Mich.

“Over the past three years we have developed a system of manufacturing redundancy in our three operations facilities,” explained Bill Strenglis, president of Unified Brands. “Our major effort as a company is managing the impact on our Arizona employees. We will work diligently with the state and private agencies to assist them in finding new employment opportunities locally along with making opportunities available in our other operations.”
